More Than $850K Raised at the 28th Annual Ellie Fund Red Carpet Gala Benefitting Breast Cancer Patients and Families
The stars aligned on Sunday, March 10th at what has become Boston's official Academy Awards watch party -- the 28th annual Ellie Fund Red Carpet Gala. The sold-out event raised more than $850,000 which will enable the Ellie Fund to serve more than 1,200 patients and their families in 2024. WCVB Channel 5 is a longtime supporter of the Ellie Fund and proud media partner of the Red Carpet Gala. WCVB anchor Erika Tarantal returned to emcee this year's gala celebration, and WCVB weekend EyeOpener anchors Rhondella Richardson and Jennifer Eagan greeted guests on the Red Carpet. Equal parts “sparkly and substantive,” the event is one of the Ellie Fund's biggest fundraising events of the year to provide essential support services for breast cancer patients to ease the stresses of life during treatment. This year Dr. Beverly Moy was honored with the event's Rose Award. Dr. Moy is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Director of Cancer Equity, Clinical Director of the Breast Oncology Program, and a medical oncologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. To find out more about how you can take an active role in alleviating the physical, financial, and emotional side effects of breast cancer treatment, and assist in a patient’s journey toward recovery and healing, visit Ellie Fund.
