Coastal communities in Massachusetts are experiencing street flooding as a coastal flood warning issued by the National Weather Service lasted until late Saturday afternoon.

The coastal flood warning covered all of Suffolk, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties, which includes the city of Boston, Cape Cod and the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Eastern areas of Essex, Norfolk and Plymouth counties were also under the flood warning.

In Duxbury, all off-duty firefighters were recalled due to significant flooding in numerous parts of the South Shore town.

Floodwaters should be avoided due to potential hazards like chemicals, sewage and diseases. There may also be debris under the water's surface that can cause injuries, and the water's depth can change unexpectedly near storm drains and washed-out roads.

The flooding came after a storm system brought more rain and some strong wind gusts to Massachusetts.
