Bruins legend Zdeno Chara finishes London Marathon just 6 days after running Boston
Longtime Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara completed his first London Marathon on Sunday, less than a week after he finished the Boston Marathon.Chara finished the London Marathon with a time of 3 hours, 11 minutes and 4 seconds, which is nearly 20 minutes faster than the time of 3:30:52 he ran in Boston on Monday.With the London Marathon under his belt, Chara has now completed three of the six World Marathon Major races. He finished the New York City Marathon in November 2023 with a time of 3:19:19.Chara, 47, retired from the National Hockey League in September 2022. He played 14 of his 24 seasons with the Bruins and he signed a one-day contract with the team in order to officially retire in a Boston black-and-gold jersey.His first marathon was the 2023 Boston Marathon, which he finished in 3:38:23.On Monday, Chara ran Boston as a charity fundraiser for the second consecutive year. The Boston Athletic Association App said he raised more than $25,000 for the Hoyt Foundation and he said that he was also working with the Thomas E. Smith Foundation."I'm just using my platform to help them, but all the credit should go to all the people helping, donating and doing all the work for anybody who is supporting a good cause," Chara said.Previous coverage:

Chara finished the London Marathon with a time of 3 hours, 11 minutes and 4 seconds, which is nearly 20 minutes faster than the time of 3:30:52 he ran in Boston on Monday.
