A well-known retail store chain with locations across the Northeast, including stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, will close for good later this month.Liquidation sales are underway at all Bob’s Stores locations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and New Hampshire.The Massachusetts locations are: Attleboro, Fitchburg, Holyoke, Middleton, Randolph and Westborough. There is a store in Salem, New Hampshire, and Cranston, Rhode Island. The chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month, and company officials announced Monday that after “swift and aggressive changes” were made to the company’s structure, Bob’s Stores was unable to secure funding to stay open and instead will be closed. "We regret that our financial position necessitated the liquidation of Bob's Stores. Bob's has been a stalwart of our local communities for nearly 70 years, and we know our customers remember us as having been there for major moments in their lives. We remain grateful to our vendors, suppliers, customers and employees for all of their support over the years," Dave Barton, the president of Bob's Stores, said in a statement.The going-out-of-business sales, which company officials say feature discounts of 30-70 percent off, began last Friday and will continue through July 14. The store is selling off all items, including clothing and shoes, and also store fixtures, furniture and equipment.Bob’s Stores gift cards and merchandise credits will be honored through the end of the day on July 14. Returns will not be accepted during this time frame, but exchanges in accordance with company policy will be possible through the close of business on July 14.
