2 Minute Drill: Tensions high as Celtics prepare for Game 5
They're going to do this, right? Right?I mean, this is a team that was one win away... in Dallas where they had won with confidence and clutch shooting two nights before... able to withstand a furious comeback from the Mavericks to hold on for the commanding 3-0 lead. And to see was to disbelieve. It looked like a game... was loud like a game... smelled like a game...There we were packed liked media sardines in 300 level oil... no space for your laptop... so you write on your phone... eating the American Airlines Center fare... washing it down with a cup full of surprise when the Mavs exploded with confidence. This is not to sound ungrateful by the way... but it's the reality of the configuration of the arenas and stadiums when you get to the championship level. So, what we were all saying with all the Celtics fans there - and there were hundreds - is this is the same team we saw on Wednesday? We all turned to each other.Down by 13 after 1, 26 at the half?Did the Celtics not show up or did the Mavericks find their way?And this brings me to the original question I said one minute ago, because this is the TWO minute drill and that is they're going to do this, right? It sounds rhetorical but really it's not.It has an answer. And I can say emphatically they ARE going to do this. But I'm less certain that the Celtics are going to do this tomorrow night.Because even though they were 37-4 at home in the regular season and have only lost twice at home in the playoffs, the reality is that the Mavericks have surged to regain the momentum, and they've done it with more energy and effort than they showed in the first 3 games combined. And they found their way with players other than Luka and Kyrie. That doesn't mean that the Celtics won't win tomorrow night and get to celebrate on their home floor. That would mean they're going to do this... RIGHT.

They're going to do this, right? Right?

I mean, this is a team that was one win away... in Dallas where they had won with confidence and clutch shooting two nights before... able to withstand a furious comeback from the Mavericks to hold on for the commanding 3-0 lead.

And to see was to disbelieve.

It looked like a game... was loud like a game... smelled like a game...

There we were packed liked media sardines in 300 level oil... no space for your laptop... so you write on your phone... eating the American Airlines Center fare... washing it down with a cup full of surprise when the Mavs exploded with confidence.

This is not to sound ungrateful by the way... but it's the reality of the configuration of the arenas and stadiums when you get to the championship level.

So, what we were all saying with all the Celtics fans there - and there were hundreds - is this is the same team we saw on Wednesday?

We all turned to each other.

Down by 13 after 1, 26 at the half?

Did the Celtics not show up or did the Mavericks find their way?

And this brings me to the original question I said one minute ago, because this is the TWO minute drill and that is they're going to do this, right?

It sounds rhetorical but really it's not.

It has an answer.

And I can say emphatically they ARE going to do this.

But I'm less certain that the Celtics are going to do this tomorrow night.

Because even though they were 37-4 at home in the regular season and have only lost twice at home in the playoffs, the reality is that the Mavericks have surged to regain the momentum, and they've done it with more energy and effort than they showed in the first 3 games combined.

And they found their way with players other than Luka and Kyrie.

That doesn't mean that the Celtics won't win tomorrow night and get to celebrate on their home floor.

That would mean they're going to do this... RIGHT.
