LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Any isolated storms on the radar Tuesday afternoon will fade away during the overnight hours, leaving us with a mostly cloudy sky and some patchy fog by early Wednesday morning. Lows will be in the 70s by then.

Wednesday is a partly sunny day with storms popping up during the afternoon in an isolated fashion. Most folks look to stay dry despite a cold front beginning its approach from the north. Highs on Wednesday will be in the 80s.

Look for additional isolated storms overnight Wednesday night into early Thursday morning. Low temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s by then.

Thursday will be one of the stormier days of the workweek as the cold front finally moves through, but even then these storms will be scattered. Very heavy rainfall and lightning will be the main threats with these storms. Highs will be in the 80s.

Even though a cold front will be south of us, highs will still be well into the 80s and even close to 90 degrees in some cases on Friday. The front will be far enough south to keep almost all of us dry, but close enough for a 10% storm chance in Kentucky.

Isolated to scattered storms will return gradually over the weekend, with that pattern really kicking in for the next workweek. We’ll have to watch for even greater storm chances late next week as northwesterly flow aloft brings the potential for complexes of storms to move in from the Midwest.
