Michael Flynn lawyer Sidney Powell temporarily locked out of Twitter account

Sidney Powell, the lawyer representing retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, was temporarily deactivated on Twitter.

Powell was locked out of the social media platform for a short period of time Monday after “unusual activity from [her] account,” according to a message that was displayed on her profile.

A spokesperson for Twitter confirmed for the Washington Examiner that she was locked out of the account and was subsequently “required to prove” her identity, which was “in accordance with our policy on platform manipulation and spam.” The spokesperson said that Powell has since confirmed her identity and regained access to her account.

“My [Twitter] account appears restored. Thank you for your concern & support. The rampage I went on yesterday to stop the violence, #StandUp for America & American values & rebutting the lies of the #NYTimes must have been too much for them!” Powell celebrated her return on a tweet, tagging White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany and President Trump.

Her timeline includes supportive posts about Trump and his administration while deriding Democrats.

Powell, as Flynn’s legal representation, urged a judge to dismiss the case against the former national security adviser for allegedly lying to federal agents in 2017 as a part of Robert Mueller’s investigation by arguing that the FBI treated her client unfairly. Earlier this month, the Department of Justice filed to do just that.
