Dispute at Jackson lounge moves to park, ends in shooting

THEY THEN TOOK THE CONFRONTATION TO JANE AVENUE PARK WHERE SHOTS RANG OUT SHORTLY BEFOR

Jackson police are investigating an early morning shooting.Police said the incident stemmed from a Thursday night confrontation between a group of people at the Kemistry Lounge downtown. After the group was asked to leave, police said they took the dispute to Jayne Avenue Park, where shots rang out shortly before 3:30 a.m. Friday.A woman who was shot several times was taken to a hospital, according to police. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
