The extraordinary number of global stars who performed in Wales this weekend

Wales saw some amazing musical talent perform across the country during the first weekend of July from Tom Jones to Shania Twain

Known as the land song, Wales is renowned and loved for producing amazing singers that have gone on to global success. We also love a sing-a-long and an impressive swathe of artists who visited Wales during the first weekend of July 2024 proved this as they kicked off summer in style.

From Chepstow to Cardiff to Llangollen the global talent on show was astounding. We had Shania Twain, read our review here, and Tom Jones delight crowds at Chepstow Racecourse, Manic Street Preachers, Suede, read our review here, and JLS stormed Cardiff Castle and Gregory Porter brought some soul to Llangollen.

It has already been a great year of music for Wales with pop icons Taylor Swift and Pink and rock legends Bruce Springsteen and Foo Fighters having performed here. There is still more to come yet with Rick Astley, Noel Gallagher, Madness and more all taking to the stage at Cardiff Castle this summer and you can read our reviews of the castle gigs so far, here.

Here are some of the best pictures from the first weekend of July 2024, when Wales was awash with musical talent and many, many happy fans.
