Not every online property auction house is a rundown renovation project or an abandoned shop, church or bank that requires extra budget, planning challenges to get consent and a full renovation project to bring back to life.
Sometimes an auction can be hiding an absolute gem that is surely going to get bidders in a frenzy trying to secure it and be the winner of the front door keys. Welcome to Ty Coch, a remote rural cottage that is move-in ready.
Of course, if you do want to do some work and add value then the pretty Powys home can offer that too via an attached and unconverted barn that could become another home for another member of the family or even a holiday let, subject to securing planning permission. Sean Roper, of Newport-based Paul Fosh Auctions who are selling the off-grid retreat near the village of Llanwrthwl, near Llandrindod Wells , says: "Ty Coch could be the answer to your dream to escape and to grab the quieter, less rushed life, the one that you've always promised yourself. At the head of a valley with quite spectacular views over the stunning mid Wales countryside Ty Coch, which dates from the seventeenth century, offers that once in a lifetime type of opportunity. The cottage really could become your very own off-grid retreat and also includes a large paddock situated to the rear. The house itself has been sympathetically restored and modernised all the while maintaining its character but bringing it into the modern era."
The house is located near the small market town of Builth Wells. The three-bed house, which has a guide price of £325,000-plus, has an entrance hall with a door off to the lounge which boasts a log burner in an inglenook fireplace, which in turn has stairs to the first floor and doors off to the kitchen diner and bathroom. The stairs off the lounge provide access to three first floor bedrooms.
Ty Coch is going to online auction with vacant possession on the Paul Fosh Auctions website from 12 noon, on Tuesday, June 18 and ending from 5.30pm on Thursday, June 20, call 01633 254044 to find out more.

Nestled into a gentle hillside near the Powys village of Llanwrthwl, Ty Coch offers a remote, off-grid home surrounded by a stunning and peaceful landscape.

The services have been designed to have lots of spare capacity, so that they will always be able to heat and power the house, even in deepest winter.

The main source of heat for this is the back burner on the large wood burning stove in the living room. This takes heat from the fire and then stores it in the thermal store. There is also an LPG gas boiler which heats the thermal store when the fire has not been burning. The thermal store feeds both the radiators around the house and the domestic hot water.

These solar panels feed into a Victron solar charger and inverter which charges the large battery bank and provides a steady supply of power for the home.
