With gorgeous coastlines, stunning countryside, and rugged mountains it is no wonder that Wales is a very popular place to visit. And while it's a draw for holidaymakers from around the world the appeal of Wales also frequently draws the rich and famous.

Hollywood stars, YouTube sensations, royalty have all visited Wales so far in 2024. From visiting for work or simply enjoying a holiday, many celebrities have loved their time in Wales.

Luke Evans

More a return home than a visit but nevertheless Welsh Hollywood star Luke Evans was spotted enjoying a meal at 1832 in Porthcawl. Posting to their Facebook page 1832 said: "Super happy to have Luke Evans in @1832porthcawl today! #hollywoodinporthcawl #eighteenthirtytwo #staff."

Susan Calman

Comedian Susan Calam enjoyed filming at Barry Island for her new Channel 5 show. Posting a video to her Instagram she said: "Filming in Barry Island. It's fair to say we're having a good time." For the latest TV and showbiz news sign up to our newsletter.

Jason Manford

Another comedian, Jason Manford, has also loved visiting Wales though this time it was on holiday. Jason is no stranger to Wales, having visited before, and this time he gushed over Silver Bay on Anglesey.

Posting to Instagram he said: "Beautiful Welsh evening on Silver Bay with my children. Bloody cold in that water though."

Prince William

Onto royalty now and Prince of Wales, Prince William, has been spotted in Wales in 2024. Prince William visited Cardiff Metropolitan University where his charity The Earthshot Prize and the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales were hosting an event to celebrate the Welsh seaweed industry. Calfreezy

In 2024 YouTuber Calfreezy, whose real name is Callum Airey, was spotted in Ebbw Vale. It is believed he was filming in the area.

Alex Jones

No stranger to Wales is Welsh presenter Alex Jones. Hailing from Ammaford the One Show star often visits different parts of Wales during the year and in May she raved about the roast dinner at a Gower pub. She and her family – husband Charlie Thomson and children, Teddy, Kit, and Annie – had a delicious roast dinner at the King Arthur pub in Reynoldston.

Posting a photo of her roast dinner to her Instagram story, Alex said: "An incredible Sunday lunch in the @kingarthurhotel. Loads and delicious!!!!!" You can read more here.

Stacey Solomon

Loose Women presenter Stacey Solomon visited Wales for work in 2024. She filmed an episode of Sort Your Life Out in Wales in May and said: “I am in Wales today with my family. We’re back filming Sort Your Life Out. So excited. Series five.”

Gethin Jones

Another Welsh TV presenter who loves returning home is Gethin Jones. He gave a shout-out to Welsh rugby player George North's café after spending a perfect May bank holiday weekend enjoying the "simple things" with his friends.

The 46-year-old told his 132,000 Instagram followers that he'd had a weekend filled with coffee, doughnuts, and Guinness. You can read more, here.

Tom Hardy

Hollywood star Tom Hardy and his adorable French Bulldog called Blue enjoyed a trip up Pen y Fan in May 2024. Tom captioned the snap: “That time Blue nailed the [Fan] in the wet and cold #dogsdo #bestoffriends #teams #nodripormoan. Thankyou for being my little big wingman always.”

Greg James

Radio presenter Greg James had a very sweet reason for visiting Wales. He gifted a couple his tickets to the Brit Awards and babysat their seven-year-old daughter Maisie for them meaning he took a trip to Swansea.

He did the dishes, went to the park with Maisie, played with her Barbies with her, let her paint his nails, and they ended the day with a Chinese while watching the Brits on TV. You can read more here.

Jordan explained his Welsh links while in Cardiff

Another radio presenter to visit Wales was Jordan North. When he moved from BBC Radio One to Capital FM he went on a regional visit to Capital South Wales in Cardiff and revealed to Drive presenters Josh and Jess that he has strong links to Wales.

Jordan said: "My grandad Gwyn was from Maesteg near Bridgend. Recently my auntie told me that she’s pretty sure we might be related to George North. So if any of George North’s family are listening, get in touch, we need to sort this out."

Liam Reardon and Millie Court

With Love Island winner Liam Reardon living back in Wales it is no surprise that his girlfriend Millie Court comes to visit regularly. They raved about Haystack Cafe in Liam's hometown of Merthyr Tydfil.

Posting a picture of his pancakes and eggs and beans on toast Liam said: "Damn. Think I underestimated the portion sizes. Tasted amazing though @haystackcafe this is in Merthyr for anyone wondering."

Carol Vorderman and Sally Lindsay

If anyone was going to have a glamorous and fabulous party packed with celeb pals it was going to be Welsh Radio Two presenter and weatherman Owain Wyn Evans. Owain lives in Penarth and had a glitzy Cardiff bash complete with famous faces to celebrate his 40th birthday.

A video shared by partygoer singer Ian 'H' Watkins showed a bunch of familiar faces celebrating alongside Owain. Carol Vorderman, Madame Blanc star Sally Lindsay, and more were filmed alongside Owain's family and friends.

Andy Serkis

Andy Serkis, who is known globally for his role as Gollum in the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, visited Coffi Co in Mermaid Quay. With the star posing for photos with staff Coffi Co shared an Instagram post captioned: "Nice little visitor at Coffi Co Mermaid Quay today - all Lord of the Rings fans". It is unknown why Andy was visiting Cardiff however Cardiff Castle was closed for filming on Friday, March 22, and Andy was spotted in Cardiff Bay just days later. You can read more here.

Katherine Jenkins, Amy Wadge, Huw Stephens, and Louis Rees-Zammit

What would get Katherine Jenkins, Amy Wadge, Huw Stephens, and Louis Rees-Zammit all in the same room together? Taylor Swift of course. All four celebrities were spotted enjoying themselves at the Taylor Swift concert when she brought her Eras Tour to Cardiff in June.

Gordon Ramsay

Gordon Ramsay came to Wales to enjoy the sunshine and made something rather unusual which divided opinion – a full English breakfast pizza. The TV chef made the creation in Portmeirion using a mobile pizza unit belonging to Cardiff-based Pizza Boys who have appeared in their own BBC series. You read more here.

Amy Dowden and Sara Davies

Close friends Amy Dowden, a Welsh Strictly Come Dancing professional, and Dragons' Den star Sara Davies raised money in Wales as they hiked for the charity CoppaFeel. The charity is particularly close to Amy's heart as she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.

The trek took place in Bannau Brycheiniog and was led by Giovanna Fletcher and team captains Amy Dowden, Harry Judd, Faye Winter, and Candice Brown. You can read more here.

Katie Price chose an appearance at a Welsh bar-nightclub as the location to publicly debut her relationship with new beau JJ Slater. The media personality, 45, and her new 31-year-old businessman boyfriend JJ – who many may recognise from his stint on Married at First Sight last year – attended an event at The Arch bar-nightclub in Neath on Saturday, February 24. Oscar-nominated star and screen legend Willem Dafoe was spotted dining out in a Cardiff restaurant and he liked it so much he went there two nights on the trot. The actor, who was Green Goblin in Spider-Man, went to Cardiff chain restaurant Mowgli. You can read more here.
