#StandForBR town hall asks, 'where do we go from here?'

WAFB Channel 9, Raycom Media's CBS affiliate in Baton Rouge, LA, presented a town hall meeting live and uninterrupted Tuesday, August 2. The community event was also carried nationwide on Bounce TV.

Martin Luther King III joined Baton Rouge community leaders, activists and law enforcement on the panel. The town hall meeting titled "Where do we go from here?" began at 7:00 p.m. CST on WAFB and was livestreamed on WAFB.com and in the WAFB News App.

WAFB's Greg Meriwether and Lauren Westbrook moderated the event. Audience members in attendance also participated in the live discussion that served to create action steps for community and civic leaders to discuss and implement.

WAFB used the hashtag #StandForBR to gather comments and questions from viewers on social media.

Topics for the town hall meeting ranged from law enforcement/community relations, de-escalation training, economics, health and educational opportunities.
