Your Turn: Gravel Pit

This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Jennifer Beck.

Beck is one of many people who reacted on our Facebook page to the story about a company which wants to build a gravel pit near a neighborhood in Livingston Parish. Beck and others who live in that neighborhood are unhappy about it.

In her words: My home will be about 500 to 700 feet from their processing plant. Other neighbors are closer than that. I've lived in Oak Hills for 14 years. It's a great place to raise a family and the schools here are awesome, but plants like this will drive families out. I would move however my home will not have the same value and really, who's going to want to buy it with a gravel pit across the street? I totally get that someone has a right to do whatever with their property but at whose expense. I guess mine?
