Your Turn: Summer Lunch Program

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Laura Bacile.

Bacile and dozens of other people reacted to a news story about the availability of a free summer lunch program in East Baton Rouge for children and teens. Some people objected to the program as another government handout, but Bacile and others disagreed.

In her words: I cannot fathom how any human being can have a problem with hungry innocent children being fed a meal. Obviously, you have no compassion and have never known what true hunger feels like. And for those of you citing a race issue in Baton Rouge, please come over here to Livingston Parish for the day if you think there are no hungry white children who would be grateful for the same program. It is the least we can do as human beings to help feed innocent children who did not ask to be born into poverty.

That's Laura Bacile's turn. Now it's your turn. Now, it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, visit us on Facebook or send an email to yourturn@wafb.com.
