This week's "Your Turn" segment goes to Jodie Lynn. Lynn was among dozens of people on our Facebook page who were debating the use of capital punishment.

The argument developed as Louisiana legislators were considering a bill aimed at expediting the executions of inmates now on death row.

On Facebook, some people linked the issue of capital punishment with the abortion debate. Lynn doesn't buy that argument.

In her words: The consequence of pro-choice is the murdering of an innocent; the consequences of being for the death penalty is the murderer receiving justice for murdering the innocent. I disagree with the assessment that to be pro-life and for the death penalty is hypocritical. In fact, I would argue that to be pro-choice and against the death penalty is the true hypocrisy: kill an innocent but save a murderer of an innocent.
