BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Year one of the Hudson Fuller era at Catholic High went about as well as it could have. The bears secured a district championship on their way to a fifth state title in the last seven years.

The bears lose several key leaders of that championship team in 2024. Perhaps most notably our Sportsline player of the year Daniel Beale.

Beale is now in Lafayette with the Ragin Cajuns, which means Catholic needs to find its next signal caller.

Plenty of help around the new quarterback which should help, an offensive line returning three starters, a tight end group that is impressing the staff this summer, and a wide receiver room that features several playmakers.

The bears defense shined in the spring game. Catholic High has a deep defensive line room with experienced players at linebacker, and the secondary is loaded with next level talent.

The bears loaded up their non-district schedule with a bunch of challenging tests. Catholic opens up with two difficult road clashes at Destrehan and St. Thomas More before welcoming in crosstown foe U-High and West Monroe.
