BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - LSU’s Olivia Dunne has announced that she plans to return for her fifth and final season with the gymnastics team.

The senior made the announcement in a post on social media.

Dunne said she wanted to return for a final season because she feels she has more to contribute to the team and to the overall sport.

“This past year, I found a renewed love of the sport. I had trained a lot in the off season, so I felt really strong and healthy from the start and ready to contribute,” Dunne said. “I really enjoyed the dynamic of the team this year and it all came together well. Winning the national championships was a great team accomplishment, but I feel like I have more to give as an individual competitor.”

According to LSU, the gymnastics star is hoping to shine in multiple events in the future, and she is hoping to return veteran routines and depth to the bars, beam, and floor lineups.

Dunne has been recognized with many honors, including the Coaches Award. She has also been named a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll Member, an Academic All-American, and she made the President’s List in 2024.

Haleigh Bryant, Sierra Ballard, Chase Brock, and Alyona Shchennikova are also set to return for another season with the LSU Gymnastics team.
