BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Stop number 18 for Sportsline Summer Camp is in the 70805.

Istrouma High School enters year two under Sid Edwards in 2024. The Istrouma Indians had a solid outing in Edwards’ first year at the helm. Six wins including a first-round playoff dub over Northside. But consistency was an issue.

Istrouma won their first three games, loss their next three, won their next two, then ended the 2023 regular season with two more losses.

After spending the last four years as Belaire’s head coach, Byron Wade returns to Istrouma as offensive coordinator.

Wade loves the size that he is working with upfront, as well as having a dynamic skill player in senior Kyree Paul. Wade’s job is to get the most out of the all-state playmaker to create an electric offense to complement an intimidating and physically imposing defense.

However, what impresses the new OC the most is the team’s work ethic.
