BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Firefighters responded to a garage fire on Thursday afternoon, July 4, in the 9800 block of Coronado Drive.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department arrived on the scene to find a detached garage in the backyard of a home engulfed in flames. A truck was also on fire.

Officials say they were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the home, but the garage and vehicle were considered a total loss.

According to BRFD, the fire was caused by the improper disposal of charcoal after the resident who was grilling said he dumped the coals behind the garage.
