WATSON, La. (WAFB) - For the third consecutive offseason, Live Oak football is breaking in a new head coach. Randall Legette was promoted from OC to HC during the offseason and he’s hoping to build on a 2023 that featured some struggles.

Legette now transitions from a play caller to more of a CEO but is pleased with the pieces around him.

The Eagles new OC David Maryland has implemented more spread concepts to the offense with RPO’s and creativity.

The big plays jumped off the page in Live Oak shortened spring game against Brusly and the Eagles talented wide receiver trio had a lot to do with it. Freshman Calvin Ursin, Dallas Mattingly, and Marcus Mack are the names to know.

On the other side of the ball, the strength of the Live Oak defense figures to be the front which is loaded with veterans.

The Eagles begin their season on the road at St. Pauls on September 6th.
