Overdose investigations lead to 3 arrests; seizure of Fentanyl, other drugs
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Over 300 lethal doses of powder and pressed Fentanyl is reportedly off the street, along with a variety of other drugs, after recent drug busts in East Baton Rouge Parish.
According to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, deputies executed six search warrants on Lorraine Street and Gwendale Avenue in Baton Rouge and on Brandy Avenue in Zachary as part of three independent investigations on June 26-27.
Officials said three people were arrested and a variety of drugs—including powder and pressed Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, powder and crack cocaine, Oxycodone, Marijuana, and Synthetic THC—were seized. Thirteen guns was also reportedly seized, four of which were allegedly stolen.
According to the sheriff’s office, the Gang Intelligence and Enforcement Unit began investigating the numerous street level poly-drug distributors in June as a result of investigations into overdoses.
Arrests
- Cora Gray, 39, was arrested on several charges related to possession with intent to distribute powder fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, and Marijuana, as well as possession of a stolen firearm, two counts of firearm with CDS, operation of a clandestine lab, and drug paraphernalia.
- Larry Taylor, 53, was arrested on the charge of possession with intent to distribute powder Fentanyl.
- Ronald Wyble, 34, was arrested on several charges related to possession with intent to distribute powder Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, pressed Fentanyl, Crystal Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and suboxone, as well as two counts of firearm with CDS, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, and drug paraphernalia.
