BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a Livingston Parish man accused of beating and raping a woman inside her Baton Rouge home earlier this month.

A detective with the Baton Rouge Police Department’s Special Victims Unit says she arrived at a hospital to find the woman with a ruptured ear drum and marks covering more than half of her body, documents say. The woman also reportedly had low pressure in both eyes “due to being hit repeatedly in the face by the defendant with a closed fist and flashlight,” according to an arrest warrant in the case.

David Blake Coutee, 38, of Walker, is accused of First-Degree Rape, Aggravated Second Degree Battery, False Imprisonment, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Aggravated Assault, according to his arrest warrant.

Police allege the attack happened after Coutee arrived to assist the female who asked him to help her move some items from her home to the roadway.

Coutee is accused of dragging the woman by her hair, brutally beating her and sexually assaulting her multiple times over the course of several hours, according to the warrant.

Police allege the victim was told that she would be killed if police were told about the incident.
