EBRSO: Man accused of shooting ex-girlfriend while driving arrested

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A man has been arrested after he allegedly shot his girlfriend while she was driving.

The suspect, identified as Nichollas Scott, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison in connection with the shooting.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident happened around midnight Monday, June 24 in the 8000 block of Antioch Road near Doyle Road.

Jail records reveal deputies arrived at the scene and found a who woman had been shot in the torso as she was driving.

The victim told detectives she was driving on Antioch Road when her former boyfriend drove his vehicle alongside her and allegedly pointed a gun at her.

The man, later identifed as Scott, reportedly fired several shots, hitting the victim and the vehicle, according to an arrest report.

After she was shot, the woman pulled over into the nearest parking lot and called 911.

The victim was taken to the hospital in “serious but stable” condition, according to law enforcement.
