SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) — The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the three Shreveport teenagers who died as a result of a high-speed crash involving a stolen vehicle on North Market Street. Another four people were injured.

Those who were killed in the wreck early Sunday morning (June 16) are 19-year-old Devion Patterson, 18-year-old Jamario Washington and 17-year-old Zaleia Young. The coroner’s office reported that all three were dead at the scene.

Autopsies were ordered for all three.

It was 2:20 a.m. Sunday when Caddo sheriff’s deputies responded to the major crash at North Market at McDaniel Drive. Upon arrival, the deputies discovered a stolen 2005 Toyota Camry overturned at the scene.

The accident resulted in three deaths and multiple injuries. At least four people were taken to a local hospital for treatment, including three with serious injuries.

An investigation showed that the Camry was speeding south on North Market when it veered off the road, struck two curbs and flipped after hitting a tree before coming to a rest upside down. Some of the unrestrained occupants were thrown from the vehicle during the crash.

A stolen gun was recovered from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. Updates to come as more information becomes available.
