EBR Parish Health Unit to remain closed until June 13 for storm-related repairs

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) Office of Public Health (OPH) has updated the reopening date for the East Baton Rouge Parish Health Unit to Thursday, June 13.

The Parish Health Unit located at 353 North 12th St. closed on June 5 for repairs due to storm damage from recent severe weather events. It was previously expected to reopen on June 10, but another day is needed to complete repairs.

Residents in need of health services they typically receive from the East Baton Rouge PHU can visit other Region 2 locations listed here.

Businesses requiring permits from the Office of Public Health’s Sanitarian Services can visit the West Baton Rouge Parish Health Unit at 685 Louisiana Ave., Port Allen, or call (225) 342-2650 with questions.

Funeral directors in need of death certificates can visit the Pointe Coupee Parish Health Unit, 282-B Hospital Road, New Roads.
