Southern Baseball looks to sweep Alcorn during Monday matchup

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Southern Jaguars are looking to sweep Alcorn State on the baseball diamond Monday afternoon, May 6.

First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Lee-Hines Stadium.

The team has already won the series, claiming victories during a double header on Sunday, May 5. The final scores for the games were 14-1 and 10-1.

During game two, the Jaguars jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second inning and ended up dominating the Braves.

Southern finished the day with 12 hits, while Alcorn State finished the day with five hits. The Jaguars struck out eight times, while Alcorn had 13 strikeouts.

Egith Jaguars batters recorded a hit. They include Kameron Byrd, Tyeler Hawkins, Ryan Ollison, Rashard Grace, KJ White, Logan Sanders, Marcus Sanders, and Caleb Tart.
