Community invited to meeting on potential sites for Scotlandville grocery store
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The Scotlandville Food Access Commission (SFAC) plans to host a community meeting on Monday, April 29 to unveil two prospective sites to bring more food options to the area.
Leaders will explain their research on the most suitable locations for a new grocery store.
They also want to hear feedback from community members.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn located at 3330 Harding Boulevard in Howell Place.
Organizers report the meeting marks a critical advancement in efforts to improve food access within the community. Studies in recent years have identified the community of Scotlandville as having the largest “food desert” in the city of Baton Rouge.
