BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Looking for something fun to do with the whole family this Easter season? Community organizations have announced Easter egg hunts, pictures with the Easter bunny, giveaways, and more happening in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

3rd Annual Good Friday Senior Citizen Fish Fry

Councilman Raheem Pierce is hosting the 3rd annual Good Friday Senior Citizen Fish Fry on Friday, March 29 starting at 11:30 a.m. It’s happening at True Hope Missionary Baptist Church. The address is 24915 Hwy. 1 in Plaquemine, La.

7th Annual Build A Basket Easter Event

District 10 Councilwoman Carolyn Coleman is hosting the 7th Annual Build A Basket Easter Event on Saturday, March 30 from noon until 5 p.m. It will take place at Expressway Park. The address is 935 S. 11th Street in Baton Rouge. There will be face painting, a petting zoo, free food, a special guest performance, and more. An Easter egg hunt begins at 3 p.m. For children ages 2 through 12, parents must attend.

Dr. Jeremy Blunt and Deatra Peoples-Blunt share details about a community Easter egg hunt the Stitches Group is holding on Sunday, March 24.

Easter Bunny Baskets

The Easter Bunny will be at the Central Police Department on Saturday, March 30. The drive-thru event begins at noon at 13505 Hooper Road. Police officers will help the Easter Bunny pass out baskets to kids. The children must be present to receive a basket.

Easter Sunday Meal at St. Vincent de Paul

The St. Vincent de Paul will prepare and serve a hot meal to anyone in need on Sunday, March 31 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 220 St. Vincent de Paul Place. Easter baskets will be given to dining room guests ages 12 and younger. Adults will receive a gift of food or other essentials.
