BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Baton Rouge Community College is hosting a vibrant celebration of arts and culture throughout the week called Arts Fest XIII.

In its 13th year, Arts Fest is a week-long event for BRCC, bringing together writers, poets, artists, musicians, and the community. This year’s theme, “Create. Imagine. Art: Transforming Community through Creative Expression,” aligns with the college’s ongoing 25th-anniversary celebrations.

Arts Fest began on Monday, March 18, and will continue through Thursday, March 21 at the Mid City campus. The address is 201 Community College Drive.

The school announced the Baton Rouge community and public are invited to attend all of the scheduled events.

The Arts Fest will emphasize mental, physical, and spiritual well-being during the weeklong celebration. The event will include celebrity guests, a special art exhibition, musical performances, the release of a BRCC-produced documentary, speaking presentations, theatrical performances, the Black & Rouge art journal reading release and reception, a Sneaker Ball, and much more.

The lineup for Arts Fest XIII will include Louisiana State Poet Laureate, Alison Pelegrine; award-winning poet and actor, Chancelier “Xero” Skidmore; television personality star, Toya Johnson-Rushing; internationally acclaimed visual artist, Terrance Osbourne; New York Times bestselling author Omar Tyree; Screenwriter Arthur Harris; musical group Yellow Door; BRCC produced The Voices from the Bayou documentary; and others.
