Women looking to sharpen job skills can attend this empowerment event

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Ladies, if you’re looking to sharpen your job skills, there’s an event happening in Baton Rouge just for you.

Women United, a group that is a part of Captial Area United Way is hosting “Women Empowering Women” on Thursday, March 7.

It will take place from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at BREC’s Milton J. Womack Park. The address is 6201 Florida Boulevard.

Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m.

Organizers say the event is free and intended for women who are seeking job skills.

There will be breakout sessions including job searching, applying for jobs, resume building, and interview skills both in-person and virtual.

Attendees will have the opportunity to visit a resource fair, receive complimentary breakfast and lunch, and after the event will receive fresh produce, gift cards, and more.
