KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WAFB) - The LSU women’s basketball team won versus Tennessee on Sunday, Feb. 25, scoring 75-60.

Hailey Van Lith recorded a season high 26 points as she led the teams to their victory over the Lady Vols inside Thompson-Boling Arena.

Van Lith led all scorers with a season high 26 points on 9-18 from the field with 4 three-pointers. The transfer’s 12 fourth quarter points gave the Tigers the boost they needed late. She also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out three assists with zero turnovers.

“Hailey has taken a lot of criticism, and it needs to stop,” Coach Kim Mulkey said. “She’s learned a new position, she’s on a top team in the country – the defending national champions, she’s having to play the point guard, and then today she moved to the off guard. She had zero – and you write that big – zero turnovers in almost 37 minutes of play. That’s the most important stat in my eyes, I know she scored 26 and had three assists. She hit big shots in the game when we needed a shot the most.”

The Tigers look on to their next matchup against Georgia on Thursday. LSU will take on the Bulldogs at 8 p.m. CT on ESPN2 inside Stegman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. The Tigers will then return home for senior day against Kentucky next Sunday, March 3.
