There’s an expungement event this weekend, here’s how to register

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - If you’re thinking about seeking legal help, there may be an opportunity for you to do so in the Baton Rouge area this weekend.

Councilwoman Coleman and Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome will host the “Easy Expungement Screening & Registration” event on Saturday, Feb. 17.

It’s happening from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Dr. Leo S. Butler Community Center. The address is 950 Lorri Burgess Avenue.

Organizers say spots are limited and registration is required.

According to officials, the event will provide residents with an opportunity to explore expungement possibilities or have charges dropped. The screening will be staffed by dedicated representatives from the Office of the District Attorney and volunteer defense attorneys.
