LSU running back arrested on attempted murder charge

Holly has been hit with three felony charges—attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon.

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - LSU running back Trey Holly is in hot water, as ESPN’s Pete Thamel was the first to report Thursday afternoon.

Holly has been hit with three felony charges—attempted second-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon—stemming from an incident that recently occurred in Farmerville, Louisiana on the night of February 9.

Sheriff Dusty Gates of Union Parish Sheriff’s Office in Farmerville said at least three different weapons were discharged, possibly more. He said it began as an argument amongst females at a nearby apartment complex that spilled over to another complex.

According to the sheriff’s office, the two people shot were innocent bystanders not even involved in the altercation. They both required surgery but are on their way to recovery.
