Help The Bear!

The Bear has barely finished awards-season cleanup duty and there’s a trailer for season three. The Bear returns on June 27, following FX chairman John Landgraf’s February announcement that the show would stay on schedule, last year’s strikes be damned. We’re sure no one is more excited than Carmy and Sydney shippers, who want nothing more than the two to do something about their perceived sexual tension, despite the fact that co-creator Chris Storer said the show is actually trying to cultivate a friendship between colleagues and partners. Tell that to the fan cams.

Someone order a trailer?

Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) is in his tyrannical era, the trailer tells us. The fine-dining restaurant of his dreams is finally opening, and he’s laying down the “nonnegotiables,” which come down to aphorisms like “less is more,” “pursuit of excellence,” “details matter,” and, most menacingly, “focus” written in all caps and underlined. “Vibrant collaboration?” Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) observes. “That’s demented.” The new restaurant introduces new stakes. Carmy breaks up with Claire (Molly Gordon), only to ask a reluctant Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) to be a partner … in the business. He has a breakdown over bowls of slightly different variation. Money’s drying up. “You need to calm down,” Sydney says, as if she’s not starring in the most panic-attack-inducing show to hit streaming.

When is The Bear returning?

Make your reservations now — The Bear season three premieres June 27. And FX on Hulu will once again drop all episodes at the same time. We’ll pick up with a frustrated Carmy getting trapped in the freezer during the debut of the new Bear restaurant. Clearly, from the teaser, he gets out of there, but how is the restaurant doing?
