Met Gala 2024: Celebrities, Red Carpet, Theme & More

Affectionately referred to as “fashion’s biggest night out,” the Met Gala 2024 is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City that is held every year on the first Monday in May. The event welcomes stars, young creatives, and industry paragons. The 2024 Met Gala will take place on Monday, May 6 and will celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” The 2023 Met Gala theme honored Karl Lagerfeld, who was a regular attendee at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. During 2021 and 2022, the Costume Institute hosted its first two-part exhibition, on the theme of American fashion. Part one, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” opened in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021, and “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” opened on May 5, 2022 in the period rooms of the American Wing.
