The New Sleek Loafer Trend That’s About to Take the Street Style Scene by Storm

If you hadn’t heard, ’tis the season of the loafer, from polished penny loafers to chunky lug-soles. These days, however, the loafers on everyone’s–and we mean everyone’s–lips are the classically-cool driving loafer. The trend first caught our attention back in October at the Miu Miu spring 2024 runway collection, when models made their way down the catwalk in preppy pairs of leather loafers reminiscent of the traditional boat shoe. From there, slightly softer and less-structured styles have emerged from several of our other favorite labels, like The Row, Proenza Schouler, Khaite, and Tod’s. Just last week outside the European men’s shows, women’s driving loafers were on full display, sported by the ever fashionable street style scene.
