With London Fashion Week over for another season, what were the biggest beauty trends? From the dewiest skin to pops of color, Vogue rounds up the best—and most wearable—trends to try for spring 2023.

Brow Lamination

But not as you know it. While fluffy, brushed-up brows, made easy with the help of a brow lamination treatment, have been very much de rigueur over the last few seasons, makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench rethought the traditional technique in favor of exaggerated, razor-cut brows at Poster Girl. Using her new Browlacq Brow Laminator and the accompanying mini comb, she styled models’s brows into different shapes to striking effect. How far you take it is up to you.

Embellished Disco Eyes

While party season isn’t yet upon us, the countdown has begun. The best way to get your disco on is with an embellished and sparkling eye, as seen at Halpern’s spring 2023 show. “Vivid eyeliners were encrusted in sequins from the collection to create an upbeat, vibrant look,” explained makeup artist Lynsey Alexander, who masterminded the looks. “And skin was pared-back so the sparkle and shine took center stage.” Using a combination of Nars’s High Pigment Longwear Eyeliners in The Strip and Santa Monica Boulevard, alongside the brand’s eyeshadows in Persia and Douro, the result was a graphic eye that will see you shine through party season and beyond.

Easy-Breezy Healthy Skin

When models hit the makeup chair backstage before each show, it’s no longer just a case of having their makeup done. It’s all about the pre-makeup skin prep to achieve truly luminous skin. This (longstanding) trend was evident at Erdem, where models’s complexions were treated to mini facials by aestheticians from 111 Skin. While skin-boosting techniques included multi-masking and lymphatic drainage massage, one of the key formulas used was the brand’s new Celestial Black Diamond Brightening Essence, which boosted radiance, hydrated, and plumped.

Elsewhere, at JW Anderson, the aim was to make models look “handsome, healthy and wholesome”, so Alexander used translucent textures on the skin to “emphasize dimension and shine”. That included Byredo’s Liquid Lip Vinyls, used as glossy blushers over the cheeks, eyes and, lips for the glossiest glow.

Megawatt Hair Shine

While the street style set showed up with all manner of unique hair looks, on the runways the focus was very much on “healthy gorgeous hair” and working to enhance each individual’s texture, Sam McKnight explained at 16Arlington. To create the ultra glossy look, he used his Lazy Girl Biodegradable Spray to reduce excess oil from the hairline, then added shine, shape, and definition using Mr Smith’s Serum.

Color Flash

While bare and minimal is a perennial aesthetic for springtime, this season is all about injecting some color where it’s due. From 16Arlington, where pastel shades were applied just beneath the waterline, to the tangerine and fuchsia eyeshadows at Simone Rocha, the message is to experiment and have fun with any shade the rainbow affords you. For just a gentle nod to the trend, try a berry-bitten lip, as seen at Molly Goddard.
