There are already a few key celebrity trends brewing for the summer – namely sheer dressing and the boho-chic look, which are among the biggest fashion movements of the season. And so leave it to a trendsetter such as Dakota Johnson to combine both of these aesthetics into one striking look last night. While attending the Daddio premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, the actor slipped into an autumn/winter 2024 Gucci dress that ticked all those boxes.
Why was Johnson’s transparent, peacock-blue slip dress so on point? It not only had just the right amount of sheerness, exposing a pair of lace briefs underneath, but it also featured delicate lace and crêpe de chine detailing – making it feel a dash more bohemian and free-spirited. A sheer dress can very easily read risqué, yet the prim-and-proper touches of Johnson’s dress made the look more refined. As did her strappy stilettos and tasselled necklace. It’s shaping up to be a sheer, boho-chic summer indeed.
