Researcher
Organic geochemistry
a.j.baxter@uu.nl

Allix Baxter is a PhD candidate in the Organic Geochemistry group since 2018. Her research focusses on investigating the climate of tropical east Africa during the late Quaternary Period using organic biomarkers preserved in the sediments of Lake Chala (Kenya/Tanzania). This work is important for understanding monsoon dynamics in Africa and to what extent climate variability at the equator is influenced by changes at higher latitutes.

Allix is also an active member of the PhD Council for Geosciences and the Young Women of Geosciences (YWOG) at UU.
