Sterling K. Brown won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his portrayal of Christopher Darden in FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story in 2016. He went on to star as Randall Pearson on the NBC series This Is Us from 2016 to 2022, earning an Emmy, a Golden Globe and three SAG Awards. Brown also appeared in Black Panther (2018), Waves (2019) and American Fiction (2023), the latter earning him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2024.

Brown eloped with actress Ryan Michelle Bathe in 2006, and the twosome held a larger wedding ceremony the following year. The couple welcomed their first child, Andrew, in 2011 and their second, Amaré, in 2015.
