America Ferrera

America Ferrera achieved success early in her career with the 2002 films Real Women Have Curves and Gotta Kick It Up! before starring in 2005’s The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Ferrera gained further acclaim for her starring role on ABC’s Ugly Betty, earning a Golden Globe Award, a SAG Award and an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance. Ferrera has also starred in Our Family Wedding (2010), End of Watch (2012), the NBC series Superstore (2015 to 2021) and Barbie (2023), the latter of which earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

The actress served as the executive producer for 2007’s Muertas and Towards Darkness. Ferrera was the co-producer of Superstore and directed four episodes of the series. In 2021, it was announced that she would make her feature length directorial debut with I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, based on the novel of the same name by Erika L. Sánchez.

Ferrera met director Ryan Piers Williams at the University of Southern California in 2005, tying the knot in 2011. The couple welcomed children Sebastian and Lucia in 2018 and 2020, respectively.
