U.S. Capitol Police Welcome Communications Director

July 25, 2016

WASHINGTON, DC – Chief Matthew R. Verderosa announced today that Ms. Eva Malecki is the U.S. Capitol Police’s (USCP) new Communications Director.

Malecki was detailed in April 2016 from the Architect of the Capitol’s office to assist as the USCP’s Acting Communications Director. She recently joined the USCP to serve in the role.

“I would like to officially welcome Eva to the USCP team. While on detail here, she seamlessly fit into our operations; responding to numerous media inquiries during the mass demonstration activities that occurred her first week in the acting role. We’re very pleased she’s joined the USCP as our Communications Director,” said Verderosa.

Malecki began her career working in the U.S. Senate, and later as a press secretary in the U.S. House of Representatives. She also spent five years at the U.S. Mint in the Corporate Communications Office where she led its employee communications efforts. Most recently, she served as the Architect of the Capitol’s Communications Officer and spokesperson for 11 years.

All media inquiries may be directed to Eva.Malecki@uscp.gov or (202) 224-1677.
