Pod coffee just got greener: Instant launches compostable pods

This product launch goes hand-in-hand with Instant Brands' initiative toward sustainability; the brand recently pledged to become a carbon neutral company by 2040, and this launch is another step in the right direction. By 2030, all of the company's packaging will be made from renewable or recyclable materials.

The launch includes compostable coffee pods in five different varieties—Breakfast Blend, French Dark Roast, 100% Colombian, French Vanilla and Decaf—as well as Nespresso-compatible espresso capsules in Leggero Light Roast, Lungo Medium Roast and Ristretto Dark Roast varieties. You can use both shapes in Instant's Dual Pod Plus Coffee Maker, which works with Keurig, Nespresso, and reusable pods to make a variety of customizable coffee and espresso drinks. 

When we tried these for ourselves, we were surprised that the resulting cups of coffee had come from pods. The flavor profile of each cup was much more robust than what we're used to getting from standard K-cups (especially when using the "Bold" function offered on the Dual Pod Plus). 

And, the peace of mind that comes from enjoying an organic cup of coffee from a pod that will eventually be tossed into our at-home compost bins instead of a landfill, makes that experience even better.
