During COVID, United Way and DoorDash created the Ride United Last Mile Delivery initiative that involved Dashers bringing food pantry supplies and household essentials to our most vulnerable, isolated neighbors. So far, some 21.9 million estimated meals have been delivered to 129,000+ households through our partnership’s 1.8 million free deliveries.
It’s all part of United Way’s larger Ride United program leveraging 211, the 24/7 resource connecting people across the U.S. to local resources and help. Created in 2018 in partnership with Lyft, Ride United Transportation Assistance also helps people in need get critical rides – to foctor’s appointments, education programs, job interviews, veterans’ services, and to food pantries.
