Three temporary transformer substations to be installed on territory of Okhmatdyt

Yuriy Herasko, the distribution networks department manager at DTEK Kyiv Power Grids, said this in a commentary to Ukrinform.

 “The electrical equipment belonging to the hospital has been completely destroyed and will most likely be dismantled... Our task now is to implement a temporary scheme to power the new hospital building. This scheme will be in place until the constant scheme is restored. DTEK has delivered temporary transformer substations to Okhmatdyt, there will be three of them, to temporarily power the new hospital building. All critical equipment will be powered, including ventilation, elevators, intensive care - all vital equipment,” Herasko said.

He added that the new building has been switched to backup power systems.

At the same time, the expert did not provide a timeframe for the restoration of power to Okhmatdyt on a permanent basis.

As reported by Ukrinform, on July 8, Russia launched massive strikes on Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and other cities of Ukraine. The Russian attacks killed 42 people, including four children, and injured 190 more.

In Kyiv, one of the missiles hit the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital. Two floors of the hospital's building with an area of approximately 400 square meters were destroyed. Several other buildings were damaged.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 100 million from the state budget reserve fund for priority restoration work at the Okhmatdyt Children Hospital.
