Germany has offered support and treatment for Ukrainian children after a Russian missile attack that struck the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv.

German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach announced this on social media platform X following a phone call with Health Minister of Ukraine Viktor Liashko, Ukrinform reports.

“I have promised Health Minister of Ukraine Viktor Liashko that we will accept sick children who need help at any time,” stressed Lauterbach.

The German minister said that the rescue flight would take off on Wednesday.

“Putin has shown again by his deliberate attack on the children's hospital: he is a war criminal,” he posted.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reposted this post and wrote: "Germany stands firmly by the side of the Ukrainian people. Especially in these difficult times.”

As reported, on July 8, Russia attacked the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv, where children from all over Ukraine are treated. Many countries have already condemned this egregious crime. The UN Security Council will hold a special meeting on this issue on July 9.
