The OSCE Permanent Council, as the organisation's permanent decision-making body, will hold a special meeting on Tuesday in connection with Russia's missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, including the Okhmatdyt children's clinic in Kyiv.

This was reported to Ukrinform by the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the International Organisations in Vienna.

"We are grateful to the Maltese OSCE Chairmanship for its prompt response and convening an extraordinary meeting of the Permanent Council. The terrorist attack on the children's hospital is once again a painful reminder that security in Europe is possible only through the isolation of the Russian regime, the imposition of sanctions against the Kremlin, strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities and ensuring the defeat of the Russian criminal regime in this war," the mission said.

The Permanent Representation stressed that yesterday's horrific attacks, which endangered the lives of children, "are yet another manifestation of the Russian Federation's gross violation of OSCE principles and commitments, as well as Moscow's complete indifference to peace in Europe."

The meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council is scheduled for 15.00 local time.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and other cities of Ukraine were hit by a massive Russian missile attack on 8 July. A total of 38 missiles of various types were fired. Residential buildings, infrastructure and a children's hospital were damaged.
