Fake about Ukrainians handing over ammunition to pawnshops circulating on Telegram

Russian propaganda continues to be bothered by Western partners' assistance to Ukraine

Russian Telegram channels have shared an image from an allegedly Ukrainian pawnshop with a sign in Ukrainian at the entrance stating that arms, explosives, military uniforms and bulletproof vests are not accepted. The post adds that Ukrainians pawn military aid from partner countries at pawnshops to make money.

This is a fake. The image was tampered with in a graphic editor. A reverse image search revealed that the original photo shows a completely different sign at the entrance to the pawnshop, and it is in Russian language. There is also a phone number with the Russian code "+7".

As it turned out, this pawnshop is located in Moscow.

In general, such transactions are illegal in Ukraine. Recently, the National Bank has prohibited banks and non-bank financial institutions from conducting active transactions with individuals that are secured by dual-use items.

These are goods that can be used for military purposes and are included in the Unified List of Dual-Use Goods.

By spreading such fakes, the Russians aim to undermine Ukraine's reputation in the eyes of partner countries that provide assistance to our country. In addition, the fake news are aimed at creating public opinion about chaos and uncontrolled arms trade in the country.

Earlier, Ukrinform refuted a number of fakes that France had already officially sent its troops to Ukraine.
