During his first trip outside Bratislava after the assassination attempt, Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Slovakia is not ready to lift the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, Sky News reports.

Fico, along with Slovak Agriculture Minister Richard Takacs, visited a farm in the village of Slovenská Nova Ves on Monday to check the grain harvest.

During the visit, Fico said in a brief statement that Slovakia is not ready to lift the ban on imports of agricultural products from Ukraine. He also thanked the farmers for their work.

It is noted that the Slovak prime minister, who was attacked on 15 May, used a stick and did not answer questions from the media.

As Ukrinform reported, in May 2023, the European Commission banned imports of Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Romania at the insistence of these countries. On 5 June, the ban was extended until 15 September 2023.
