The European Union will help financially in the reconstruction of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, which was hit by a Russian missile attack the day before.

This was stated by Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Rémi Duflo in a comment to Ukrinform.

"Of course, we will help. Many of our employees already helped yesterday: they immediately came to the place of damage, and brought water and food; Some dismantled the rubble. We will also financially help restore this symbol of Ukrainian medicine, a symbol of how the Ukrainian state treats the most vulnerable segments of its population," the diplomat said.

Duflo said he was shocked by the attack and stressed the need to hold Russia accountable.

"The more things like this we see, the greater our determination to support Ukraine," the diplomat said.

The team of the EU Embassy visited the destroyed hospital building and inspected the damage.
